 Appala kuzhambu/ Papad kuzhambu:-

Ingredients:-

Tamarind-big gooseberry size
Fenugreek-1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Rice flour-1tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Water-as required
Salt-to taste
Sesame oil-3tbsp
Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
Channa dal-1tsp
Urad dal-1tsp
Hing-1/2 tsp
Jaggery-1tsp
Sambar powder-1tbsp(add more based on taste)
Red chilli-3 nos
Onion-1(finely chopped)
Curry leaves-few
Appalam /papad-3-5 nos

How to make appala kuzhambu:-

* Heat sesame oil in a kadai.Fry the papad in oil.

* Lower the flame & splutter mustard seeds,urad dal, channa dal, Fenugreek & cumin seeds.
 Add curry leaves & Red chillies&onions.
*Once the dal turns golden lower the flame completely.Add turmeric powder and sambar powder.

*Add salt& Hing.

*Add fried papads & Rice flour.

* Saute quickly and add 1cup of tamarind extract immediately.

* Add jaggery and boiled the kuzhambu til raw smell leaves.It becomes thick &oil starts to float on top.


* Switch off the flame.Serve to the hot plain Rice with any vegetable curry.
