Brown Rice Kara Kozhukattai Recipe/Steamed spicy dumblings made with brown rice /# weight loss food#
For Grinding:-
*1cup brown rice
*1 cup water
*1tbsp channa dal
*1 tbsp thoor dal
*1tsp pepper
*1tsp cumin seeds
*3 red chillies
For Tempering:-
*2 tsp gingelly oil
*1/4 tsp mustard seeds
*1tbsp urad dal
*1tbsp channa dal
*Few curry leaves (finely chopped)
*2 green chillies ( finely chopped)
*1 tsp salt
Let us make it:-
*Wash the brown rice 2-3 times and then soak it for 4-5 hours.
*Drain the water from the soaked brown rice.Now grind the brown rice with some water.
*Grind to a really smooth fine paste, set aside.
*Add mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal, finely chopped green chillies and curry leaves.
*Add in the ground brown rice mixture and stir with a spatula.
*The brown Rice mixture will immediately thicken up in to a mass of dough.
*Set aside to cool a bit.
*Place the dumblings on an idli plate or any flat plate and steam it for 15 minutes on a medium flame.
*Serve hot with coconut chutney or Coriander chutney and a cup of coffee or tea for your breakfast.
