Anchovies are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which offer power ful benefits for your heart.

Anchovies also have selenium, which if eaten regularly,may reduce the risk of some type of cancer.

How to prepare Anchovies:-

 The largest Anchovy catches take place in November and December. However because they are so often preserved, these fish can be enjoyed through out the year.You can find them in most grocery stores, seafood markets or speciality food shops.

You can eat anchovies raw,but they are typically smoked, salted or packed in brine.

   Try these ideas to add anchovies to your diet:-

•Add to a sandwich with tomato, lettuce and aioli.

• Layer on toast with a soft egg for breakfast.

• Stir-fry with soy sauce and sesame oil 

Ingredients Needed:-

*Anchovy fish-1cups
*Oil-3tbsp
*Mustard seeds-1tsp
*Cumin seeds-1tsp
*Onion-1(finely chopped)
*Green chillies-5(slit)
* Curry leaves-few
* Brinjal-2(finely chopped)
* Potato-2(finely chopped)
* Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
* Red chilli powder-1 tsp
* Salt-to taste
* Coriander leaves-few
* Basmati rice-1cup
* Water-1&3/4 cup
* Garlic-1 (peeled off)

Method:-

* Clean the Anchovy fish thoroughly.

* Wash the Basmati rice and cook well. Set aside.
* In a large pan, Heat oil splutter Mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

* Add onion, green chillies and curry leaves.

* Add Garlic cloves,if will comes golden brown.

* Add brinjal and potato- cook well.

*Add salt to taste.

* Add chilli powder and turmeric powder toss to coat well.
*Add Anchovy fish -saute well
* Add the cooked Basmati Rice- mix well.
* Finally add chopped coriander leaves &curry leaves, cook for a couple of minutes and switch off.
* Serve hot with boiled egg or any vegetable  curry.
